Input library

The Shoreline Design input library is where you can create and store templates for bases, assets, and logistics, and upload weather files.

We recommend that you create input library templates, rather than continually create new bases, assets, or logistics at the case level, as it saves time and allows for greater consistency between cases.

Any template or weather file you add to your input library, or that other users have shared with you from their own input libraries, is available to add to any Design cases you create.

Parameters set at the input-library level are carried over when you add a template to a case. Once you have added a template from your input library to a case, you can edit these parameters and complete additional parameters as required within the case. Any changes you make at the case level do not affect the input library template. You can, however, choose to save a base, asset, or logistic from a case to your input library.

Import and export

You can export bases, assets, and logistics from your input library in CSV format. The CSV file contains all the parameter values for the exported items.

You can import assets using a CSV file, saving you time by allowing you to add many assets at once.

Weather

You can upload weather data to your input library in CSV format.

Weather files can contain the following data:

  • Required:
    • Wind speed (m/s)
    • Wave height (m)
  • Optional:
    • Wind direction (°)
    • Wave period (s)
    • Swell (m)
    • Zero up crossing period (s)
    • Tide (m)
    • Current (m/s)
    • Visibility (km)
    • Month (1–12)
    • Lightning (0, 1)
    • Environmental restriction (0, 1)
