Import a project plan

After you have downloaded a project plan in XML format, you can import it into MS Project or Primavera.

Import your project plan into MS Project​

Import your file using the MS Project desktop app.

  1. In MS Project, click on File > Open.
  2. Choose *.xml as the file format.
  3. Navigate to the XML file you downloaded from Shoreline.
  4. Double click on the file.
  5. If prompted, select As a new project.
  6. Click Finish.

Import your project plan into Primavera P6​

  1. In Primavera, click on File > Import.
  2. Select Primavera P6 - (XML). The Primavera import format
  3. Click Next.
  4. Navigate to the XML file you downloaded from Shoreline.
  5. Click Open. The file navigator
  6. Click Next. The Primavera file import
  7. Select Update Existing Project in the Import Action column. The project import options
  8. Select your primavera project in the Import To column. Primavera project selector
  9. Click Next.
  10. Select the Default import template.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click Finish.
