Add cables

There are two types of cables you can add to your cases:

• Inter-array cables
• Export cables

Power from turbines is transported by inter-array cables to the substation. From the substation, export cables carry the power to shore.

After you have added cables to your case, you can further model cable laying and burial.

1. Open a Shoreline Design case.
2. Click on the Build tab.
3. Click on the Assets tab.
4. Click + Add.
5. Click on either Inter array cable or Export cable.
6. Enter the number of cables you want to add.
7. Enter the cable-specific inputs:
   1. For inter-array cables:
      1. Set which WTGs the cables connect using the dropdowns.
      2. Optional: enter a Length (m) (default is the distance between the WTGs) and a Power capacity (MW).

   2. For export cables:
      1. Select the asset from which the cable exports power.
      2. Enter the Longitude and Latitude of the cable endpoint.
      3. Optional: enter a Length (m) (default is the distance between the asset and a Power capacity (MW).

8. Click Next.
9. Enter any asset inputs you require.
10. Click Save.
